Samsung NC20 Netbook To Be Released In March 2009

The financial crisis is in its full swing, and the companies that produce laptops are doing their best to offer the best product to the customers. The Samsung, which had just revealed the new NC20, the upgraded version of the smaller 10″ NC10 netbook, is not an exception. The NC20 has a 12.1″ screen and its VIA NANO ULV processor is a surprising change from the trusted Intel Atom Platform.

Here is a small review of the Samsung NC20 netbook.

Build and design
This particular netbook has a very clear design. It maintains the same color scheme inside and outside the netbook. A thin border of chrome on the edges gives it a classy feel. The build quality on this one is not very good but indeed above average. The lower half of the netbook has almost negligible flex, giving it a classy feel. Only the screen lid has some flex, which when pressed distorts the panel a bit.

Display
This netbook provides a LED backlit display that is more or less even across the whole of the screen. The good contrast levels and vibrant colors give it a nice image quality. It works well in bright environments but using it under the sun might be taking it too far.

Keyboard and Touchpad
The almost full size keyboard is very comfortable to use. It has ample spacing. The synaptics touchpad on this one has also been nicely sized for a netbook.

Ports
It gives the user 3 USB ports, VGA, LAN, audio jacks and a 3 in 1 multi card reader. Another USB port would indeed be a healthy inclusion.

Overall, the Samsung NC20 netbook delivers good performance with its VIA processor and to call it a full grown netbook would only be fair.
