As a part of the One Laptop Per Child program, Intel Corporation has started shipping small and inexpensive convertible laptops for students from developing countries, the Intel Classmate PC. This ultraportable laptop starts at $225 and has a 7-inch display that acts as a touchscreen, a fast (although small) 2GB SSD drive, a 900 MHz Intel Celeron M CPU, 265MB RAM, and comes with Windows XP and MS Office 2003 preloaded.
