Samsung Corporation has introduced two new lines of stylish Intel Centrino 2 based laptops today represented with 11 laptops. They are the 17-inch R710, 15.4-Inch R560, 15.4-Inch R510, 14.1-Inch R460, 13.1-Inch Q310, and Q210 that comes with a 12-inch LCD screen. The other models, P560, P510, P461, P460, and P210 are designed for company use.

All the laptops in both R- and P-series are based on the new Centrino 2 platform, with HDMI Interface and built-in camera. Pixel Lab, the Korean laptop manufacturer, has announced its new ultra mobile laptop, the Ripple Note 8212. It is a 12-inch laptop that only weighs 1.15Kg with thickness being razor thin 12 mm.

The laptop is powered by Intel’s 800MHz Ultra Low Voltage processor A110 (although using the latest Intel Atom processor would be a better idea these days), and has 1 GB RAM and a 1.8-inch 80 GB Hard Disk Drive. The Lenovo ThinkPad R61 is trim, slim laptop aimed at the for business crowd. For less than $1000 you can have the HP Pavilion DV6500z, a dual core processor laptop with a 15.4″ display screen. The highest resolution it puts out is 1280×800 and the colors are vibrant. The picture is sharp and smooth but the shiny screen can be a little too reflective. You’ll have to be careful where you setup to use your laptop because there will be times when light or something else in the background will distract you entirely.

The laptop is great for video conferencing because of the webcam and microphone included. The DV6500z keyboard comes with a mouse touchpad and two buttons that proved to have just the right sensitivity. The keyboard is easy to use (lots of room to rest your wrists!).
