LG P430 and P530: Ultra-Slim Blade Laptops

Two new ultra-slim P430 and P530 Blade series high end laptops were unveiled by LG, making them a challenge to other slim line laptops on market, such as MacBook Air and Samsung’s 9 Series. Both laptops are powered by the newest Intel Core i7 processors with Nvidia GeForce GT520M graphics, at the same time they are only 23.8 mm thick. LG P530 laptop offers a 15.6-inch LED LCD screen and weighs 4.85lbs (2.2 kg) while the P430 model has a smaller 14-inch display.

The new laptops utilize bezel LCD screen technology developed by LG, that allows for the screen to be as thin as only 4.5 mm making Blade laptops about 20% slimmer than the competing notebooks in the same class. Panasonic CF-B10: the worlds lightest 15-inch laptop

Panasonic has announced its plans to produce the worlds lightest 15.6-inch laptop CF-B10. It will be powered by Intel Core i5 2520M CPU, and have a 500GB HDD and 4GB memory. Besides having a 15.6″ screen, the laptop will be also equipped with a blu-ray drive, yet its weight is only going to be around 4.144 lbs (1.88 kilograms) which is about 30-40% lighter than an average laptop with this screen size.

The thinner parts of this laptop are made from high-strength magnesium alloys, which allows for making them both thinner and lighter. Panasonic is planning to introduce this CF-B10 laptop to the Japanese market in March 2011, the estimated price would be about $2130.
