A new Chromebook produced by Samsung will be released in just a few days, on June 15. It will be a lightweight and small, 12.1-inch computer running Google’s own Chrome operating system, that is intended for mobile users. Unlike Windows and Mac computers, the interface of a Chromebook will be browser oriented and will require constant internet access to store documents and launch applications. As a matter of fact, the Chromebook netbook will have no hard drive space for storing documents. The concept of an on-screen keyboard isn’t something new, it has been implemented long ago in tablet PCs and other touchscreen-enabled gadgets (iPad, iPhone and Acer Iconia, to name a few). Looks like Fujitsu is now also going to catch up with this trend and launch a new keyless Lifebook laptop designed by Laura Lahti for the “FUJITSU design award: a life with future computing” competition.

This on-screen keyboard will allow for rearranging the “keys” in the way you like it, adjusting the position of the trackpad, customizing colors and writing in different languages. The designer claims the virtual keyboard will not cause as much wrist pain as traditional keyboards since it is not necessary to click on letters anymore, you can just drag your fingers from letter to letter. This is something that you do not see often in other touch screen gadgets and I’m really anxious to try this keyless laptop once Fujitsu launches it.
