HP Compaq 2710p: the convertible notebook
After Lenovo’s successful launch of ThinkPad X60 earlier this year, Hewlett Packard also comes out with its new ultra portable 12.1″ convertible business laptop: HP Compaq 2710p.

The new 2710p tablet is a solid, lightweight and multi-functional device intended primarily for business users. It has a magnesium-alloy chassis that looks like a brushed steel, LED-backlit display that supports 1280×800 px resolution, a keyboard that is surprisingly easy to use and a pop-up LED keyboard that allows for typing in dark places. The processor used on this laptop is a 1.2 GHz Core 2 Duo, and there’s 2 GB RAM installed.
The only cons of this laptop that I can think of is the absence of an optical drive and the resource-greedy Windows Vista that comes with it. I would recommend downgrading to Windows XP as soon as possible to get the most out of your HP Compaq 2710p tablet.
