Toshiba has announced that a prototype for a 3D laptop that does not require stereo glasses to watch 3D content was built. The laptop is can display both 2D and 3D images, which makes it ideal for watching movies in 3D format. The laptop has a 15-inch screen that flashes images 120 times a second to create the slightly offset images of a 3D scene. It adjust the 3D stereo effect according to the user’s eyes movements that are tracked by the built-in webcam. Obviously, it works the best when there’s only one user looking at the laptop screen.
The 3D laptop will debut later in 2011.
