Lenovo IdeaPad U110: First Thoughts
Lenovo continues to do remarkable things with its IdeaPad lineup of laptops. At one time they were known or the ThinkPad collection but times change and they’re moving to the next generation. There are several versions of the IdeaPad to choose from but the latest in the collection is the U110 series. The 110s are at the higher end of their products with a base price of $1,899. They’re currently running a sale where you can get them for $1500 so if you’re in the market now is the time to jump on it and get a new computer.
The IdeaPad U110 is sleekly designed and slender. It comes in red and black and can be customized to your needs, although the basic settings are terrific. You get a new generation Intel Core 2 Duo L7500 processor as the base and it can handle anything you throw at it. The display is 11″ (if you need something bigger others in the IdeaPad series offer it). The graphics chip is onboard Intel X3100 and puts out great video for you. There’s an integrated webcam accompanied with VeriFace application, a 2 button touchpad for navigation, a 120 GB hard drive, an integrated network card, and VGA out port for outputting your laptop to your external monitor.
