Silently updated Intel its processor price list over the end this week, 45nm make an addition to its economy quad-cores, this dual-core chip is a new entry-level, and an advance to the Celeron D family.
The tried-and-true Core 2 Quad Q6600 processor now has a similarly inexpensive option from Intel that’s based on a 45nm fab. The latest Core 2 Quad Q8200 is the 1st of Intel’s Q8000 cycle, 2.66GHz running with 1,333MHz bus in front-side and with only 4GB of L2 cache.
Now the smallest offered Q8200’S L2 in the Core 2 Quad family - compared to the 12MB, 8MB, or 6MB found elsewhere in the line. Its cost’s at $224 in thousand unit capacities, built in a 2nd cheapest Core 2 Quad Intel presents next to the 65nm, 2.4GHz Q6600.
Chipzilla also present the Core 2 Duo E5200, Core 2 Duo line is new entry-level and also sporting a 45nm fab method. It presents a 2.5GHz clock, front-side bus800MHz and 2MB of L2 cache. The priced of chip at a relatively low-priced $84 in quantities of thousand-unit. It means 25% less costly than the cheapest chip in the 65nm E4000 line.
