Panasonic has announced its plans to produce the worlds lightest 15.6-inch laptop CF-B10. It will be powered by Intel Core i5 2520M CPU, and have a 500GB HDD and 4GB memory. Besides having a 15.6″ screen, the laptop will be also equipped with a blu-ray drive, yet its weight is only going to be around 4.144 lbs (1.88 kilograms) which is about 30-40% lighter than an average laptop with this screen size.

The thinner parts of this laptop are made from high-strength magnesium alloys, which allows for making them both thinner and lighter. Panasonic is planning to introduce this CF-B10 laptop to the Japanese market in March 2011, the estimated price would be about $2130.

New convertible laptop from Panasonic: Toughbook CF-C1

Panasonic has officially launched its new Toughbook CF-C1 convertible laptop, the world’s lightest tabled PC. Its weight is only 3.2 lbs and it is available with a multi-touch screen and an electronic stylus. This model of Toughbook has been already given the Editor’s Choice Award of “LAPTOP” for durable design, mobility and versatility.
